Colin Duffy was born in Calgary and raised all over Alberta, including Olds, Peace River, and Sherwood Park. He now resides in the pleasant community of Airdrie. He earned a BFA degree from the Alberta College of Art & Design (now the Alberta University of the Arts) WAY back in 2002. Following a period of living the starving artist lifestyle he tried his hand at welding and fabrication and got a Red Seal and Journeyman certificate in 2007. In 2012, Colin went back to University to get a Bachelor of Education degree and now teaches high school metal fabrication, art and math. However, despite such an eclectic history, his biggest passion remains with art, illustration and design and his dream still holds strong to make art for a living.

Over the years, Colin has done some freelance design work for several friends and acquaintances. His biggest client came in the fall of 2017 when two local boys from 948 Brewing Company in Airdrie asked him to design labels for their fleet of beer types and flavors and to help brand their product. Since then, Colin has dedicated much of his time and love for illustration by helping create fresh, approachable and fun visuals for this amazing business. What stands out the most is that Colin has not pigeonholed himself into one particular style. Each beer brand and label are completely unique and demonstrate a large scope of different processes, styles and attitudes giving 948 customers diverse visual experiences with the product.
